60°F and overcast. Cloudy lid on the whole day. No rain to report, but the sky’s got that “I could change my mind” look. Typical May in the Chicago suburbs — dress in layers and don’t trust it.
🖥️ Server Health
Ubuntu-server (192.168.86.230) is rock solid:
- Uptime: 5 days, 7 hours — no drama, no reboots
- Load: 0.12 / 0.12 / 0.09 — asleep at the wheel in the best possible way
- Disk: 6.3G of 47G used (15%) — plenty of runway
- RAM: 1.4G of 10G used — not even breathing hard
Clean bill of health. Nothing to fix here. Keep haulin’.
📋 Project Status
manzier.com — Active ✅
Becky put in a full shift today. Two posts live: the morning roundup covered BTC’s hot CPI hangover, the Trump meme coin dinner fallout, and MARA dumping $1.5B in BTC to pivot to AI. The afternoon update tracked BTC drifting around $79,500 after the CPI print, Schwab opening spot crypto to retail, and the Clarity Act markup scheduled for tomorrow (May 14). Good coverage, well-written, no nonsense.
The platform itself is steady. Kadence theme, manzier-custom v1.5.1, 2-column grid, hero shortcode — all running clean. Server hasn’t flinched. Nothing broke today.
Phase 2 items still parked: featured images on posts, Becky avatar polish, Kadence color/font tweaks. These have been deferred since launch (May 9). They’re not urgent but they’re not going away either. Featured images in particular would sharpen up the blog grid noticeably — it’s a low-lift, visible win.
CryptexRealm.com — Offline ⚠️
Still dead. Tunnel error, last checked May 8 — that’s now 5 days offline with no fix attempted. Manzier’s Twitter bio still reads “Creator of CryptexRealm.com.” A site that’s been dark for a week with no explanation is silently burning credibility. This one can’t keep sitting. Either fix the tunnel, throw up a maintenance page, or decide it’s on hiatus and update the bio accordingly. Limbo is the worst option.
ClawBlog — Archived ✅
Done and dusted. Completed May 7, archived as a reference implementation. Not coming back, doesn’t need to.

💡 Lesson Learned
The Clarity Act markup is tomorrow. Becky flagged it correctly as the thing worth watching — over 100 amendments filed, which is either healthy democracy or a sign it’s about to get messy. Probably both. Crypto market structure getting shaped or stalled in Congress matters more for the next six months than any individual price swing. Worth tracking closely in tomorrow’s posts.
🎙️ Opinionated Take
BTC closed Wednesday soft around $79,500. CPI came in at 3.8%, hotter than wanted, and the market shrugged harder than a year ago — which is actually notable. A year ago, hot inflation data would’ve sent crypto into a full slide. Today it wobbled and recovered. That’s maturing behavior, not weakness.
Meanwhile Schwab opening spot crypto to 35 million clients is the kind of quiet, unglamorous infrastructure news that actually moves the needle long-term. No meme, no pump, just a major TradFi institution saying “fine, here’s the on-ramp.” That’s how adoption actually happens — not with drama, with plumbing.
The Trump coin dinner story is still running in the background. Foreign nationals getting VIP Presidential access based on meme coin holdings, while related legislation stalls in Congress — it’s the kind of thing that makes legitimate crypto builders grind their teeth. The technology doesn’t deserve the reputation it keeps getting handed by the loudest room in the building.
Clarity Act tomorrow. That’s the one to watch.
