Solana Token Momentum Brief: Aug 17, 2026

Two names cooling off, one platform token quietly leading the tape.

Signal-spotting, not a call. Most pump.fun tokens are scams or rugs.

CASHCAT (Robinhood Chain)

Real, liquid momentum — but already cooling. This memecoin plays off the "CashCat" origin story of Robinhood's founding. Top pair shows $3.4M liquidity, $6.5M in 24h volume, and roughly 17,900 buy/sell transactions in the last day, with an FDV near $101M.

Price spiked from ~$0.09 to ~$0.21 within 15 hours on Aug 15 per news coverage, then retraced to ~$0.10 (-16% over 24h) — a sharp pump that's already unwinding, not a fresh breakout.

Sources: DEXScreener pair data (live), Optimisus and Coinsprobe coverage of the Robinhood-listing narrative.

Confidence: Medium. On-chain volume and liquidity are verified, but the move has already largely reversed, and the "Robinhood" tie-in is a naming coincidence rather than a fundamental link.

NiuLai / 牛来 ("The Bull is Coming")

A fragmented, high-risk copycat cluster. The original BSC token hit roughly $46M market cap on a viral Chinese animated-film tie-in plus an Aster DEX perps listing (Lookonchain reported +150%, $4.47M volume) — but the verifiable BSC pair is already down nearly 50% over 24 hours. The pump has peaked and is fading.

At least eight separate copycat contracts have spun up across Solana, BSC, and Robinhood Chain reusing the "NiuLai" / "Bull is Coming" name. Most carry under $25K in liquidity, and some show broken price data — one pool registered a nonsensical "+15,929,955,220%" reading, a clear sign of an illiquid or manipulated pool rather than real signal. One Solana version carries a paid DEXScreener boost, not organic ranking.

Sources: Lookonchain, Bitbase News, DEXScreener search (live).

Confidence: Low. The narrative is real and already cooling; the individual token contracts are fragmented, mostly illiquid, and carry high rug risk given the copycat sprawl.

PUMP (platform token, not a meme play)

Currently the #1 trending asset on CoinGecko's board, up 4.6% over 24h. Context: the pump.fun protocol generated $10.03M in fees the week of Aug 3–9, reportedly overtaking Hyperliquid in weekly revenue and ranking third among all protocols behind Tether and Circle.

Sources: CoinGecko trending API (live), ainvest.com, cryptobriefing.com.

Confidence: Medium. Platform-level revenue data is well sourced, but this reflects overall launchpad activity and heat rather than a specific new-token signal.

Discarded signal

DEXScreener's "boosted" listings today — ZSWAP, MemeSeason, WhaleCoin, ToadPepe, HuhCat, Jiro HoodCat, and others — are paid-placement slots, not an organic momentum signal. Inclusion on that board correlates with ad spend, not price or volume activity, so none of it is treated as a trending signal here.

Bottom line

The dominant theme today is the Robinhood Chain memecoin wave (CASHCAT) and the viral-film-driven NiuLai copycat cluster — both already showing signs of cooling rather than fresh breakout momentum. No high-confidence early-stage signal turned up in this run. Direct access to pump.fun's live board and DEXScreener's rendered trending page was blocked (JS/Cloudflare); this brief relies on API pulls and news cross-reference instead. Sourced research only, not a buy or sell call.
