Solana Token Momentum Brief: Aug 18, 2026 (PM)

One genuinely early token with a shaky virality claim, one promo blog trying to sell a dump as a pump, and yesterday's dominant meme still cooling off.

Signal-spotting, not a call. Most pump.fun tokens are scams or rugs.

Methodology: pulled live from DexScreener's public API (pair/token endpoints — real on-chain price/volume/liquidity, not scraped), DexScreener's token-profiles feed (self-submitted, filtered for corroborating social proof), and CoinGecko's trending API. pump.fun's own API endpoints (king-of-the-hill, for-you) returned 404s this run — couldn't hit their live board directly.

MILA / "Short Spine Meemers" — genuinely early, genuinely thin

Brand-new (~1-2 hours old at check time), contract CkL1EVkL6Lrr6XzPo5PDtQf8xqDM5CtTj1WtEYQrpump. Two live pairs: a PumpSwap pair ($12K liquidity, $30K volume, 481 buys/404 sells in the last hour, +4.5% 1h) and a pump.fun bonding-curve pair (+1,118% 24h off a near-zero base, $86K volume, 2,132 transactions). The token's own post claims an 8-hour-old TikTok clip of the source cat hit ~1M likes and 4M views, plus a matching Instagram post — the linked posts do exist, but the like/view counts on them couldn't be independently verified.

Sources: api.dexscreener.com (live pair data, fetched 22:00 UTC), linked TikTok/Instagram/X posts (existence confirmed, engagement metrics unverified).

Confidence: Low-Medium. Sub-2-hour-old with real organic buy pressure and a plausible viral-video hook, but $12K liquidity and unverified social metrics mean high rug/volatility risk.

EYE / "BULLS'S EYE" — a promo blog laundering a dump as a pump

A promotional blog (bifu.co, an exchange-affiliated content site) is currently pushing this token as "fueling the bull run" with big volume stats. Pulling the actual contract (RmtMAYVTTFv2iK9muMrXEoAnSSsZPPgRPbqZCKwNDYk) directly from DexScreener confirms the volume and market cap numbers are real — $6.4M 24h volume, $2.75M market cap — but price is down -57.9% over that same 24-hour window across all 8 live pairs checked. This is a day-old pump that's actively dumping, not fresh momentum.

Sources: api.dexscreener.com (8 live pairs cross-checked, fetched 22:00 UTC) vs. bifu.co (promotional, discarded as a timing signal).

Confidence: N/A as a momentum call. Flagging this specifically because the promo content is timed to look "hot" while the on-chain data says otherwise — don't launder blog hype into a signal without checking the chart yourself.

"Black Bull"/ANSEM narrative — still the dominant meta, still cooling

Cash Cat (CASHCAT), yesterday's #1 CoinGecko trending pick, is still top of the live trending list but now down -16.7% 24h ($94M market cap, $11.2M volume) — continuing to fade, not fresh. DexScreener's boosted-listings feed (paid, not organic) is still saturated with bull-themed copycats — Qenis Bull, Z500Bull/ZBULL, HyperBull-adjacent EYE — the same cluster flagged the last two days, with no organic breakout among them.

Sources: CoinGecko trending API, DexScreener token-boosts API (both live, fetched 22:00 UTC).

Confidence: Medium on the fade (real price data); Low on any single copycat token in the cluster being a genuine new signal.

Bottom line

MILA is the one item that looks like actual early-stage organic activity today, and even that rests on an unverified virality claim with thin liquidity. Everything else checked out as either already-peaked (EYE, -58% while a promo blog claims otherwise) or continuing to decelerate (CASHCAT, the broader bull-meme cluster). No buy or sell calls — sourced research only.
